How many business can you produce a reasonable accurate P&L at the end of each day? Not many. But with affiliate marketing you can produce a daily profit and loss report and its pretty accurate.
If you have your merchants in seperate campaigns in Adwords, then use the excellent tool Affmeter to keep track of earnings you can get a (more or less) up to the minute P&L on each of your campaign.
With Affmeter you can list revenue by merchant name over a period then just compare this with your click costs and bingo… an instant P&L account for each day.
Ok, so some cookies might be set on a different day from which a sale takes place, but if you look on those as a bonus then you can be pretty happy with your P&L.
